nSBRC - Self Build and Renovation

Ask an Architect Event - Saturday 6th April

Russell Gray - MIME Architects

MIME is a ‘young’ company but Russell has 23 years of experience of working in architecture in the South / Southwest of England, including community, education & hospitality sectors, but the majority of experience is within the residential sector. This includes one off private houses, social housing, bespoke interior fit outs of London Townhouses and apartments, contemporary extensions to listed buildings and self build, both in the UK and overseas.

MIME is a competition winning practice with a track record of gaining planning approvals in ‘open countryside’ and other difficult sites with long term, negative planning histories.

Currently we are undertaking a planning strategy for a redevelopment site in a village and two town housing developments for a Community Land Trust. We are also designing six Treetop / Underground Holiday Cabins for Exmoor and two new self-build houses.

Russell is a Chartered Architect and the Director at MIME, an RIBA Chartered Practice

Chris Askew – Askew Cavanna

I have been lucky enough to work as an architect for a good many years. Ten years ago, I established my own practice in the heart of Bristol. It is a youthful and diverse practice with four other talented young architects -we work on projects for co-build and community groups, self builders, charities and creative businesses. Working ethically and sustainably is at the heart of our business. We aim to make a difference for those we work with. We also have a lot of fun. Read more at www.askewarchitects.co.uk
