Friday 28th June was National ‘Employee Ownership Day’ (EO Day) and this annual event has become an important date in our calendar. The team that run the NSBRC are all employee-owners and have a share in the business. Being employee-owned has made a huge difference to us. The team our engaged, passionate about delivering the best experience possible for our visitors and exhibiting partners and proud to work at this unique resource.
You may have read about some well-known brands recently choosing to give part of their business to their staff, including Aardman Animations, Lush Cosmetics and Richer Sounds. We believe individuals should have a true voice in how a company is run and both be empowered to contribute during challenging times and share the rewards of success.
As part of our celebrations, we were thrilled to welcome Deb Oxley OBE, Chief Executive of the Employee Ownership Association, to a business networking event on Tuesday 25th June. Deb spoke about the difference EO makes, not only to business, but society as a whole and explained how this business model is becoming increasingly popular as a generation of business-owners explore their succession options.
On Friday our MP, Robert Buckland QC, joined us to celebrate with a catch up over cake & coffee.
