Team NSBRC celebrates UK Employee Ownership Day – 28th June 2019

We are delighted to be part of the UK Employee Ownership Day (EO Day), run by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA), on Friday 28th June 2019.

EO Day highlights the impact of employee owned businesses on the individual and the community.  We are now 81% owned by our team and our culture of team engagement has allowed us to continue to improve the UK’s only self build visitor centre.

Later this month we are hosting a special business networking event at the NSBRC for our clients – with Deb Oxley OBE, the CEO of the Employee Ownership Association, as our special guest speaker.  Deb was recognized in the 2019 New Year Honours list, for her services to employee ownership and social enterprises.

On the day itself we will be celebrating by paying a profit share to all our team and the centre will close early, at 3pm, to allow the whole team to enjoy a BBQ & games with their families.

Harvey Fremlin, our Managing Director explains:

“We are thrilled that Deb Oxley OBE, is visiting us.  She will be discussing her ambition to see 3 million employee-owners in the UK and we encourage business owners to explore the EO model.  Operating in this way has transformed our business and we have a settled, happy team, who are all benefiting from having a true voice in the future of our business and the decisions we take.

“EO Day is really exciting as over 350 businesses across the UK, including brands such as Lush Cosmetics, Aardman Animations and Riverford Organics, are running activities to mark the day.  For us it is a chance to spread the word, engage with the community about what we do and, most importantly, celebrate as a team!”

Deb Oxley, CEO for the Employee Ownership Association, said:

“Companies such as the NSBRC are great examples of the economic and social benefits that can be achieved in an employee owned environment. This is why we celebrate the impacts of employee ownership on the individual, the business and the communities in which they are based.

“The EOA is proud to lead the sector-wide celebrations of employee ownership on EO Day 2019, as part of our activity to raise awareness and support the growth and impact of employee ownership in the UK.”

The benefits of employee ownership have been proven in EOA-led research, and include improving employee health and wellbeing, increasing productivity and fostering creativity and innovation across an array of industry sectors.
