JML SIPs

The National Self Build & Renovation Centre

JML SIPs are an award-winning, family-owned SIPs kit company delivering well-designed, low energy homes for almost twenty years. Our expert team offers innovative, sustainable and energy-efficient solutions across the UK. We are committed to quality and the delivery of excellent customer service – every time. The extensive experience we have acquired over the years in the SIPs house building industry has allowed us to build on our enviable reputation as a SIPs specialist and grow and develop the range of services we can offer our clients.

Structural insulated panels (SIPs)

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are a high-performance building system ideally suited to new builds, whether residential, commercial or industrial. SIP systems are used throughout Europe and North America, and are regarded by many in the UK as the future of the house building industry. SIPs are formed with a high thermal performance rigid Polyurethane (PUR) core of insulation sandwiched between two outer skins of oriented strand board (OSB/3). The panels provide an extremely durable, strong and energy-efficient building option that easily meets and exceeds the more stringent building regulations now being introduced, and are set to replace traditional construction methods such as timber framing and insulation. Their many benefits include: –

  • Exceptional thermal performance
  • Speed of construction
  • Structural Strength
  • Design flexibility
  • Habitable roof space
  • Environmental credentials

SIP Kit Manufacture & Supply

We can work alongside your architect to manufacture and supply your new low energy SIP kit home.

SIP Factory

JML SIPs have our own SIPs processing facility in rural Perthshire delivery kits throughout the UK & Ireland. Here we are able to engineer and fabricate all our house kits, allowing us full quality control over the whole SIPs building process.

SIP Kit Erection Service

We work flexibly with our clients to fulfil a variety of build stages dependant on the requirements of their projects. We can offer a SIPs kit supply and erection service for our clients, or a simple supply only, allowing local joiners to erect their kits for them.

Our Nordic inspired standard design range has been developed to offer a simple off-the-shelf solution. The designs are available in a range of sizes and layouts and can be adjusted according to your requirements. External materials, finishes, landscaping and the orientation can all be amended to suit the site.

BESPOKE SOLUTIONS

Part of the attraction of going down the self-build route is being able to create a design that works around you. JML SIPs offer an architectural design service that can be tailored to your project. Our experienced architectural team will guide you through the process by developing a concept design to meet your individual needs.

To visualise your design we use innovative technology such as VR headsets and DJI drone footage to prepare a 3D model walkthrough. These enable our clients to experience the design virtually, showing what the design will look like rather than having to interpret architectural drawings. Once the design is developed we will also liaise with local authorities to obtain the necessary statutory approvals in order to progress with the build. Please enquire for further details.

PLANNING AND WARRANT

We have a professional architectural team that will guide you through the design process and approvals stage, as well as surveyors to assess your budget - and of course engineering is in our DNA. We will deal with your Planning Application and Building Warrant and take your design from sketch scheme to technical drawings - we will provide it all.

PROJECT CO-ORDINATION

Once you obtain Planning Permission and Building Warrant, your JML SIPs home will be manufactured in our quality-controlled production facility in rural Perthshire. Following our strict, accredited inspection process, all components are loaded and ready for transportation to site. This ensures a problem free site build and allows our erection team to put up the kit to wind and watertight stage in a matter of days. This whole process is managed by our in-house project managers who will keep you updated throughout.
