Residence Collection

The National Self Build & Renovation Centre

Timber alternative windows are replicas of traditional timber windows, but instead of being built from wood, they're built from uPVC instead. At The Residence Collection, our range of timber alternative windows and doors replicate the look and feel of traditional 19th Century timber windows, with the functionality, performance and modern technology that’s designed to last.

We are a premium provider of timber alternative uPVC windows and doors, and offer three collections, R2, R7, and R9.

The R9 collection is the original timber alternative system, manufactured in Wiltshire and designed to authentically replicate 19th century timber designs, the R7 collection is a more versatile choice, with beautiful flush finishes inside and out, while the R2 collection is the choice for a modern aesthetic, with clean lines and a square appearance as an alternative to aluminium. Available in a range of authentic grained and smooth finishes, you can create the ideal solution tailored to their home.

The Residence Collection windows come with double or triple glazing as standard. With low u-values such as 1.2W/m2K with double glazing and triple glazing as low as 0.74W/m2K, our windows also have stellar thermal properties and have been designed to keep the heat in, making them cost-efficient for homeowners.

If you have a period or character property, timber alternative windows are a great choice for your customers, as they can still retain the look, charm and style of the home, while adding the modern benefits required today.

They are also a fantastic choice for listed buildings and properties in conservation area and have been installed in many homes across the UK. Perfectly replicating traditional timber sightlines, as well as following conservation guidelines and historical manufacturing techniques, all our window systems, especially R9, has the ability to preserve architectural aesthetics and bring a new lease of life into a property, without it affecting the historical impact.

When it comes to further considerations for timber alternative windows, we advise homeowners to think about every part of the window, including the cills, jointing techniques, handles and finishes. We offer flush sashes, the authentic Radlington cill, Georgian bars, traditional pear drop and monkey tail hardware. A variety of colour finishes are on offer to create the appearance of wooden timber windows, this includes colours such as English, Oak, Irish Oak and the new Honey Oak - all of which are perfect options as an alternative to timber.

Each window designed by The Residence Collection is made bespoke for every customer, so the options are endless when it comes to window design. With 26 colours to choose from, customers can opt for the same colour inside and outside, or can switch it up with different finishes for inside and outside.

A huge benefit of timber alternative windows is their maintenance-free finish. While traditional timber windows require a great deal of maintenance to keep them looking and working their best, our timber-alternative windows are produced with a maintenance-free material, meaning no painting, sanding or staining is required to keep them in shape. All homeowners need to do is wipe them clean with warm soapy water when required.

Our windows feature the latest security, maintenance and performance innovations, as well as boasting fantastic acoustic properties. They embrace modern manufacturing and traditional British craftsmanship, with options for joints to be butted together to replicate timber and further help create that traditional aesthetic.
