As the voice of the EO sector, the EOA (employee ownership association) represents employee owned businesses across the UK, helping businesses achieve ‘Great EO’, unlocking benefits for business, employees, the environment, and economy.
This year the Conference was hosted by BBC News Presenter, Maryam Moshiri, and the team heard engaging talks from keynote presenters and experts, who shared their knowledge on topics including how to being an effective employee trustee, how we can empower employee owners to understand their responsibilities, and the role of AI in business - to name just a few!
We took away some fantastic new insights, whilst reflecting on how far we’ve come as a business. Harvey was invited to participate in a panel session on ‘profit sharing’, telling our story and offering insight into how we make decisions, and was kept very busy answering questions from a very well-attended audience!
After the first busy day of seminars, we attended the gala dinner, which included the UK Employee Ownership Awards. It was inspiring to watch businesses in the sector be recognised for the fantastic work they do within the sector, and we also enjoyed a fun evening of celebrating.
The conference was the perfect opportunity to reflect on what employee ownership means to us, following our important milestone year during 2024 where we celebrated 10 years of being owned by our employees. It’s also engaged us to think on our business development in 2025; how we can continue to incorporate positive values, remain innovative and grow social responsibility into our business.
