March is B Corp™ Month! - a celebration of businesses who are balancing purpose with profit. Throughout March, over 9,500 Certified B Corporations™ around the world, are sharing stories about how they’re making a positive impact on people, communities and the planet. The NSBRC is extremely proud to be a part of this global movement.

B Corp categories: Workers, Environment, Customers, Community & Governance

What is a B Corp?

B Corps are companies that meet industry leading standards for:

  • Social and environmental performance
  • Transparency
  • Accountability

Becoming a Certified B Corp in 2025 was significant milestone for our business. The year-long process put our business to the test using B Lab’s rigorous B Impact Assessment (BIA) framework. This investigates a company's impact on its employees, its community, its customers and the environment.

It's a cornerstone of our Employee Owned ethos that we are committed to seeking out ethical and sustainable practices, which contribute to the wellbeing of our planet, our community and our industry.

Over the past three years, we have:

🌍 Reduced our CO₂ emissions by 23%

♻️ Cut waste to landfill by 17%.

💡 Upgraded LED lighting in our 67,000ft² Centre.

🔌 Installed 8x22kW smart EV charging points.

🤝 Adopted procurement policies, prioritising local and eco-friendly suppliers.

🚗 Launched a salary sacrifice scheme for Electric Vehicles, which now make up 54% of commute mileage.

🏡 Enhanced our offering to support the creation of Better Sustainable Homes: Introducing two new Workshops and investing a 6-figure sum to develop our latest educational resource, the Retrofit Zone.

🏆 In recognition of these achievements, we are proud to have been named Sustainable Business of the Year at The Business Exchange Awards 2025!
