Andrew Baddeley-Chappell – CEO, National Custom & Self Build Association
Andrew Baddeley-Chappell is the CEO of the National Custom & Self Build Association, the Chair of the Bank of England Residential Property Forum, and a self-employed consultant for Homanity.
Andrew is a chartered accountant and before joining NaCSBA headed up the mortgage and savings policy team at Nationwide Building Society where he sponsored the Lenders Project looking to improve energy costs in mortgage calculations. Andrew jointly authored the report - Community led housing and retail mortgage lending: building the partnership.
David Hilton - Project Management and Heat & Energy
David is an authority in sustainable building and energy efficiency with extensive knowledge in building fabrics, heating systems, heat recovery ventilation, renewables and conventional heating systems.
David has a Masters degree in Sustainable Architecture, is a fully qualified renewables, Gassafe installer, trainer and has 30 years experience in the industry.
Sue Dewhirst – Evolved Design Homes Ltd
Sue is a long-time friend of the NSBRC, having presented at our events and Eco Workshops for many years.
Her business, which she runs together with her husband, offers a full Design & Build service using products that are natural, environmentally friendly, and energy efficient.
Paul Newman – Director, Potton
After completing his education with the award of a PhD from Imperial College, Paul spent a short spell as a University lecturer and then moved in the timber and construction industries where he has remained for nearly thirty years.
Paul sat on the Technical Committee of the Structural Timber Association for longer than he cares to remember and was Chair of that committee, and a board member of the STA, for several years. Paul has worked for different timber building system businesses within the Kingspan group since starting as Technical Director in 2007 and has, for several years now, been the business unit director for Potton.
Tom McSherry - Finance Expert, BuildStore
Having worked within the financial services industry for the best part of three decades, Tom has spent the last 14 years specialising in self build mortgages and finance at BuildStore, the NSBRC’s founding partner, providing expert advice to our visitors who are embarking – or looking to embark - on major homebuilding projects.
During this time, Tom has also undertaken two of his own homebuilding projects.
