ThermaSkirt – The Skirting Board that Heats your Home.
DiscreteHeat are award winning UK manufacturers of the ThermaSkirt infra-red radiant skirting heating system which combines the heating and skirting in one. Since launching on BBCs’ Dragons Den, and now with more than 15 years and 60,000 installations, ThermaSkirt is considered the best kept secret in plumbing and heating.
Working with both Heat Pumps and traditional boilers (‘wet’ central heating) or available in a direct electric version ThermaSkirt is suitable for both new-build and retrofit or extension projects.
With a greater surface area and more even heat distribution compared to a traditional radiator, ThermaSkirt can provide a more efficient and effective use of your energy and reduce your C02 footprint. The ‘wet’ version is a perfect partner for heat pumps and when used with a traditional boiler can allow lower operating temperatures reducing your fuel bills with no loss of comfort.
The electric version provides a stylish and energy efficient alternative to panel and storage heaters and has a unique ‘fire-safe’ heating system that will not overheat even if covered over.
Additional ThermaSkirt safety features include smooth, trip-injury safe surfaces, simple to clean and bacteria free heating protecting the elderly, the very young and those with respiratory conditions.
With a simple ‘above ground’ clip together installation, there is no need to disturb your floors and your choice of floor covering is limitless, as whether its wood or carpet, vinyl or tiles it has no effect on performance or response times.
A kitchen plinth version and an in-floor heated threshold option ensures that even rooms with very little wall space of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors can be successfully heated.
Manufactured from a highly efficient aluminium polymer, ThermaSkirt is available in a wide range of styles and colours in a tough, durable epoxy powder coat finish that should never need re-painting.
Provided in up to 6m in a single length, most walls are installed in a single section speeding installation and retaining the appearance of traditional skirting. An MDF ‘look-a-like’ is also available for non-heated sections to maintain the aesthetics.
Controls can be a simple manual thermostatic valve like a radiator, or a complete manifold and digital thermostats like underfloor heating. Wireless, Wi-Fi enabled thermostatic controls are available to minimise disruption in a retrofit project for both the ‘wet’ and electric versions.
