East Brothers is a long established, family owned and managed sawmill and timber merchant, based just outside Salisbury. We source our round timber from local estates and woodlands, primarily in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset, so very local to us and therefore low in product miles. We primarily cut Douglas fir, Larch and Western Red Cedar softwood as well as European Oak and Opepe hardwoods. Our oak logs come mostly from UK sources, with some imported from France when local supply becomes intermittent and the Opepe, which is a marine grade hardwood, is imported from FSC sources in West Africa.
We are able to cut up to 12.5 metre lengths in our sawmill and have invested heavily in recent years on re-saw and finishing lines to enable us to produce a wide range of timber products, including construction timbers, cladding, decking and flooring as well as specialised mouldings.
We import joinery hardwoods such as Sapele, Utile and Iroko, which we kiln using our modern plant, fired by our own wood chips and we stock engineered oak flooring in European Oak and Walnut.
