Meet our employee-owner of the year!

We are delighted to name Amanda Russell as our employee-owner of the year for 2021! Amanda is our Accounts Manager, looking after invoicing, ensuring our suppliers are paid on time and payroll among many other things, and in the last 18 months has also taken on additional HR responsibilities. Amanda can often be found helping out our Front of House team during our larger shows and events too!

Since becoming employee-owned in 2014, we haven’t had an annual award for employees, as we all work equally hard to ensure everyone has a great experience of the NSBRC. However, following the impact that Covid-19 had on our business and our colleagues, we decided to make this one-off award. Our MD, Harvey Fremlin, explains why:

In the most challenging of times, Amanda has not only helped ensure the business has always been in a healthy financial position, but also prioritised the team’s mental wellbeing. Aside from completing her tasks as Accounts Manager in an exemplary manner, including providing various special discounts and exceptional financial support, in her new HR role, Amanda has frequently sacrificed her own time to support our employee-owners. She has conceived and embraced several new projects – including regular mental health check-ups - and this special award is to recognise and thank Amanda for everything she has done for us.

Amanda is a kind and compassionate person, a true friend to us all, and the entire team was behind recognising Amanda with this special award. Congratulations Amanda!

Well done Amanda, we are all proud of you!
